Set up Share Internet Connection in Linux¶

1-1. Blacklink MAC address¶

Click the Settings button above the toolbar, as shown below.

Blacklink MAC address 2a:4b:84:dc:d3:fd in this example.

1-2. Select the IPv4 Settings¶

$ sudo nm-connection-editor
Display the Network Connections as shown below.

Find the Ethernet Adapternetwork corresponding to the BlackLink MAC address.

Click IPv4 and edit wired connection as shown below.

1-3. Please Unplug and Replug BlackLink¶

Unplug blacklink and replug blacklink, then restart blackey, you will get a new IP address.
When you configure your network to use sharing mode successfully. A login page of blackey will be displayed as shown below.

1-4. Scan the QR Code with the mobile device¶

Hint

You can scan the QRcode after configuring all settings on phone side.

Resetting the network back to DHCP steps¶

This is for those who have turned on the wifi Sharing mode and want to switch back to the DHCP network connection method.

2-1. Blacklink MAC address¶

Click the Settings button above the toolbar, as shown below.

2-2. Click the adapter that is connected to Blacklink and select ‘IPv4’¶

sudo nm-connection-editor

Display the Network Connections as shown below.

Find the Ethernet Adapternetwork corresponding to the BlackLink MAC address.

Click IPv4 and edit wired connection as shown below.

2-3. Please Unplug and Replug BlackLink¶

Unplug blacklink and replug blacklink, then restart blackey, you will get a new IP address.
Show login page after new IP address detected.

2-4. Scan the QR Code with the mobile device¶

Hint

You can scan the QRcode after configuring all settings on phone side.

After successfully configuring the network properties, the device will remain in this DHCP connection until you manually set up to the sharing mode!
